For the 2026/27 season, BKH has:
6 Men's Teams | 5 Women's Teams | Junior Hockey from Age 6+
From competitive league hockey through to developing players, beginners and those returning to the sport, our aim is to help everyone find the right level of hockey for them.
We're a growing, friendly club where players can develop, compete, make friends and, most importantly, enjoy their hockey.
Never picked up a hockey stick before? That's absolutely fine.
Our coaches will help you learn the game and develop your skills at your own pace. You don't need to arrive knowing the rules or owning all the equipment either.
Loan equipment is available while you get started, so you don't need to invest in everything before deciding whether hockey is for you.
Players will need suitable footwear, and shin guards and a mouthguard are required for training and matches.
Maybe you played at school, university or for another club and haven't picked up a stick for a while.
We'd love to welcome you back to the game.
There's no expectation that you'll immediately be match-ready. Training gives you the opportunity to rediscover the game, rebuild confidence and fitness, and find the level that's right for you.
Our teams cover a range of abilities, so there are opportunities to progress as your hockey develops.
With six Men's teams, BKH offers hockey across a broad range of playing levels.
Whether you're looking for competitive league hockey, developing your game or simply want to enjoy your hockey as part of a friendly team, we'll help you find the right place within the club.
Our growing Women's section now has five teams, offering opportunities for experienced players, developing players and those returning to hockey.
Training and team selection are designed to give players the opportunity to enjoy their hockey while continuing to develop and progress.
Our growing Junior section gives young players the opportunity to discover hockey in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
Sessions focus on developing skills, confidence, teamwork and enjoyment, with players progressing at their own pace.
Many of our juniors enjoy hockey alongside other sports such as football, netball, rugby and cricket, and enjoy the different skills and team environment that hockey offers.
Throughout the season there are opportunities to represent BKH in age-group fixtures, festivals and tournaments, with a pathway into adult hockey as our older juniors develop.
Training sessions are led by experienced coaches, including England Hockey qualified and DBS-checked coaches.
We want players to enjoy training, improve their skills and feel comfortable challenging themselves.
Development isn't only about moving up teams either. Some members want to play at the highest level they can; others simply want regular hockey, fitness and the social side of belonging to a club.
Both are absolutely fine.
BKH isn't just somewhere you turn up for 70 minutes on a Saturday.
We're a community of players, coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters, with regular social events throughout the season and plenty of opportunities to get involved with club life.
Home matches are traditionally followed by teas and the chance for both teams to socialise, while events throughout the year bring together members from across the Men's, Women's and Junior sections.
We are based at Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club, alongside a number of other sporting sections.
