Social Side

With our newly merged clubs boasting 11 adult teams as well as juniors, we have a variety of social events available for everyone to get involved!

Our flagship events open and close the season. We have Club Day in September to reconnect with teammates, play a mini tournament and BBQ treats (English weather depending!) And to celebrate another successful success, our black-tie End of Season Dinner is held in a prominent location in Birmingham, such as Highbury Hall, to hold our team and club awards. 

For more informal events, every Saturday, you will certainly see most of us in our Clubhouse or pubs around the West Midlands after our league matches, often leading to a lively nighttime. With some of our teams being in the same league, we often play each other and make an evening of celebrating. Our Christmas Dinner falls in the mid-season break, and usually has a quiz to try your general and hockey knowledge. We have also started to be a presence in our local Cannon Hill parkrun on Saturday morning-getting that extra fitness in! And for those rules nerds/aspiring umpires, we are holding friendly sessions to get to know clubmates as well as improve your hockey game.

Using our Clubhouse in Kings Heath, which we share with squash, bowls, tennis, table tennis and cricket teams, we can socialise with other sports members, as well as trying out their activities. The Clubhouse is also the venue for our GB/England Hockey watch parties, games nights, auctions, and more.

Each team often also organises meals and nights out, activities like social darts and Ninja Warrior, and you will often find us having a natter after practice!
